SAS as Short story writer
Sohail Ahmed Siddiqui is an Urdu short story writer, with several published works to his credit. He
started writing Urdu short-stories in 1996 and has so far written 25, most of them have been published. He has a keen desire to continue flourishing as a bi-lingual prose writer, in near future. So, let’s see how long it will take to get his English short stories appeared in some esteemed journals. On the Urdu front, his short stories has been warmly welcomed by almost all reputed literary journals, published from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Germany and Sweden. His favourite technique is ‘Stream of Consciousness’, which was practiced in early Urdu short stories, but, not so common, these days. However, he received acclamation from some renowned Urdu critics like Dr. Fahim Azmi and Prof. Dr. Musharraf Ahmed. He has also written a few short-stories in English.
